day one
reached punggol jetty. took boat to camp1. got sorted into groups. cheng ho sounds so weird. hahaha. got boon as our instructor. he is totally idiotic and daft pls. crap guy. went to the jetty to take speedboat to camp2. i love the speedboat ride :D super shuang. mostly did admin stuff like get our tents ready and sorting out the crappy stuff like food and commitment book. the food rations were like humongous mountains -_- there was like a LOT of food lah pls we won't die that fast. fruits also. gah. got into groups of 4 and i was together with cindy christine yakka. we did belaying that afternoon and it was pretty fun without considering those mosquitoes (: especially the falling and fall on thingy. heh. pitched our tents and got our pots to cook dinner at the C&C park. burnt toothpaste STINKS so the next batch of sec3s please remember to bring cotton wool to stuff up your nose. hahaha. the food was pretty tasty i like the chilli anchovies. (: and there was a whole pot of rice lah omg. seriously A LOT i hope boon din realise that i threw half a mass tin of rice away o_o anyway went to do a lot of packing and all those sorting stuff until about 9 plus. by the time i entered the toilet hut it was flooding and there were slippers, tissues and pads etc floating around. so i decided to bathe at the public taps next to the hut. WITH CLOTHES ON what are you thinking man. so weird ok. but ya the night air was pretty cooling. haha. and my pe tee was like super soaked and super heavy :| went back to packing after changing and boon helped us adjust our backpacks. excuse me those are HAVERSACKS. the big ones that the AMAZING RACE uses. not bimbo ones like pam's (ahem.) haha. dumped the bags and bottles at the jetty area and got our lifejackets ready for the next day's kayaking expedition. boon seemed more SENSIBLE then (phew.) but i still thought he was a super duper asshole. hah. couldn't sleep well that night. watched stars with emily (she's in our buddy watch raffles.) woke up to IRRITATING mosquitoes buzzing in my ear (my dear tentmates please stop laughing at my counter-attack. -__- i was protecting myself.) woke up to wild dog barks and howls. it was like. damn scary lah you suddenly wake up and hear the wild dogs barking. who knows they might be just behind your tent. but anyway. the night sky was really pretty that night. starry and peaceful. but then again, there was the thing about the spooky woods and also the wild boar. argh. I COULDN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT YOU. ):


day two
went to the jetty early in the morning to eat breakfast and apply sunblock lipbalm aloevera whatever lah. moved our backpacks to the speedboat and some of us went to camp1 with boon to deposit our backpacks. waited for them to come back and we went to the seaside to learn kayaking. ['cindy! squat! you're still supposed to be in the water!' hahaha.] got our kayaks out and i got cindy as my partner (unfortunately!! haha). the first thing happened when we got in the water- our kayak went crashing into one of the jetty poles. -_- anyway. we forgot all about the stern rudder thingy so when we tried to turn we were like the compass needle. -_- eventually managed to navigate around the area and by the time we got the hang of it, boon told us we had to get back cos there were some lightning thingy. ): but suddenly after we had brought up all kayaks they said the lightning cleared so we could go back in again -_- so we went in again and kayaked till about lunchtime. it was damn hard moving around cos me and cindy are retarded kayakers. by the time we reached where boon was like 5 minutes ago, he's like a few km away from us already so whenever he calls us to gather raft we're always like chasing after him. we also did our capsizing drill with ruby and yanghwee. haha we did it in damn shallow waters lah we could just stand up and un-capsize our kayak. but anyway capsizing was stupid. hahaha. we capsized TWICE cos cindy kinda toppled us over when everything was alright already cos she couldn't reach for the paddle or something. hahaha. -_- crazy us. it started to rain so we had to go back to the jetty area and me and cindy started FLOATING AWAY cos of the strong current! somehow we managed to get back on shore safely -_- ate lunch at jetty area and we shared our food with the watches which left their lunch in their bags at camp1. cheng ho was like damn funny lah boon allowed us to wash our shoes and feet so we all stood in a row under the attap roof and used the rainwater flowing down as a tap. hahaha -_- lame lah. then boon and serene gave us a briefing on the kayaking expedition while the rain slowly got lighter. suddenly! i got my - and it just SUCKED la cos it was just before the kayaking ex. was hoping we wouldn't capsize but ANYWAYS. -looks at cindy and nadrah and evelyn. haha. got our kayaks out and eventually our kayaking ex was cancelled cos raffles took like another 2 hours to finish capsizing and so we didn't have time to go all around pulau tekong. sad. cheng ho damn nice lah we waited for our buddy watch raffles to finish capsizing so in the end we were like just floating downstream and paddling upstream and floating downstream and paddling upstream and you get my idea. oh anyway BOON PEED IN THE SEA. yucks. UGH. pukes. we gathered raft like a million times and tried to move as a group of kayaks but eventually we couldn't cos i kept smashing kathi's face with my paddle when me and cindy tried to paddle forwards cos we were at the side. -_- sorry ah. haha. and yes the BIG SHOWDOWN. nadrah and evelyn were bored and wanted to capsize for fun since everyone else in raffles were capsizing so me and cindy decided to help as rescue boat. so nice. (haha nadrah was so damn dumb okay. she was like 'where's my cap! where's my cap!' once she emerged out of the water and i was like, its on your head. hahaha! ) so erm. everything was pretty okay just that somehow water started guggling into the capsized boat and they had to do the see saw thing. since i was sitting behind i just had to stay put and relax with all the paddles. so everything was fine. until we tried getting nadrah into her kayak first. it was the millionth time we were trying and suddenly everyone just lost their grip on whatever and BOTH KAYAKS CAPSIZED again. ain't it wonderful :D but anyway -_- cindy became totally squeakish -_- and she gripped onto malikka's kayak and floated away with it. and i just started to float away with my poor kayak and paddle. so i was like trying to rescue the kayak by myself when cindy finally appeared from somewhere and we finally got into the kayak like after eons. spent about 45 mins in the water struggling to get on board cos the whole watch was kinda paddling away already as raffles finished their capsizing before we got rescued. gah. cindy we are the capsize champions. :D crazy hahha. reached camp1 and it was nearing dusk so we rushed to get our kayaks on land. (heng no red sea. -_-) went to wash our lifejackets and pack our stuff. pitched our tents and rushed to get bathed. i didn't bring my towel nor shampoo cos i left them at camp2. -_- had to borrow and so i used some bath lotion for my face hair body. ugh. got clean and all of us went to the canteen. WOOT la the canteen is cool ok. it was like the first time looking at urban civilisation pls. we got our food and it tasted like heaven although it would be some crap food normally. the cordial was damn refreshing and the rice was tasty like never before. whatever lah it was like we were hungry asses eating food for the first time in months. when i got my food i was shivering from hunger or something. damn tired. my hand couldn't grasp the damn cup properly but heck la. cleaned the plate totally. the soup was just like water with a grain or salt or something. argh. but the rest were good. well, obs what. haha. met alot of friends there- other mobile groups and the residential (leadership) ppl. haha i didn't know i missed them like shit lah haha the whole canteen was filled with people hugging and chitty chattying. anyway we went back to our corner of the camp and boon came to give us the numbers (mlg?) for the locations of the checkpoints we were to go the next day. we dotted them down and were allowed to sleep after we had everything packed. there was supper (green bean soup) in the canteen but i didn't want it cos i didn't like it and anyway i was getting the kayak syndrome like everyone else. the whole world started swaying and i felt as though i was gonna capsize any minute if i bent sideways. -_- talked to cheryl for a while then went to the super muddy and watery campsite at around 9 plus and slept pretty soundly. woke up once cos the rain was pattering on our tent and we started doubting our tent pegs' endurance and got kinda worried our tent would blow. but it didn't cos i went back to sleep and i woke up a whole person the next morning two hours later. phew. the left side of my pants got wet cos they didn't close one of the blinds. if they didn't close both then the left side of my whole body would have been wet. oh well.


day three
got up and went to the canteen to eat breakfast. breakfast was HEAVEN (again) but anyway there was MILO! tasted more like ovaltine but anyway it tasted GOOD. (: got a stomachache soon after that. :| went to the poolside toilet and i think it is the cleanest ever toilet in obs. hahaha seriously. anyway we set off for our campsite near ubin village (which is about 10 km away?) at around 9am and boon was like appearing and disappearing during our land expedition. the land ex was damn damn damn tiring lah because of 1. our super heavy backpacks 2. the irritating mosquitoes 3. suntan! 4. we kept resting and resting so the more we rested the more tired we got. 5. damn those freaking checkpoints lah so hard to find one! esp the third one or something we were like looking for it for eons when it was just on a tree BEHIND US argh. we aimed to reach our campsite at around 5 but actually we reached at 3.30 (: which is good. but the thing is raffles reached at 3 when they set off at 9.30 -_- which means our rests took up a lot of time. ya so when we reached we put our bags on the blue tarp and rested for awhile. it was only chengho and raffles pitching tent there cos the clearing was really small. and the best thing was, the campsite was a SEASIDE! :D it was just like sleeping on the seashore la. the view was really good, we could see singapore and all those planes coming in or going out of singapore. like every 5 mins you'll see a plane. haha. the sunset was really cool, and so was the night scene and the sunrise. took a LOT of photos there cos it was a really beautiful scenery. boon instructed us to have powder baths and to pee in the bushes and to cook with rocks and to sleep by nightfall. so i took a powder bath. cos obviously there were NO TOILETS. so we couldn't pee/shit/bathe properly. but it was a good experience la. i peed in the bushes. which was REALLY SCARY cos when i was done i realised there was this HUGE SPIDER on its web just 20 cm away from my face. and i am scared of spiders (that does not give you any chance to come and throw a fake spider in front of me.) as other businesses, imagine you had to BURY your shit and pads and whatever that isn't liquid. -_- native life. and there was not exactly a lot of privacy. cos there were GUYS fishing near our campsite, and some weird tourism thingy coming to our campsite to play some dumb game, and this PERVERTIC MALAY GUY on his bike who had NO RIGHT in coming to our campsite. HE STARED AT US. PERVERTIC STARES. and he started rubbing his chest. YUCK. we almost wanted to find boon and serene before he raped one of us but then he went off soon enough. we forgot that we were all girls. -_- shudders. anyway. we cooked noodles that night cos it was easy to cook. and i don't like braised peanuts :\ shared noodles with ruby and gang on the ocean rocks under the night sky. so romantic -_- washed the mass tins with seawater and sand. which is cool. back to basics. night came really fast cos by 7 plus it was pretty dark already. boon put 2 glowsticks at our campsite but they weren't of much help. my tentmates went to sleep at 8 (except for cindy and christine who talked till 10.) i went to emily's tent to chat till late. there were a LOT of false alarms which scared us such as hearing boon's and serene's voices, weird sounds outside, some bird squaking, some insect screeching, the pots and pans outside being overturned by a wild boar (our own imagination) and our own breathing cos the rest of the tents were asleep at 11 plus. then emily walked me back to my tent (1 metre away) and i ran to my tent (1 metre away) and emily stopped halfway (50 cm away) and we dashed into our own tents cos we were afraid of wild boars and our own imagination -_- yakka woke up and welcomed me back -_- and instructed me to sleep inside this time cos she wanted to protect me from the sandflies. how sweet (: brought in everything: our backpacks, shoes, mass tins and stuff. slept on yakka's backpack with our legs dangled on my backpack. -_- kept waking up with a painful neck cos apparently i was sleeping on yakka's canned food. and every hour from 12 to 6, one tent would do night patrol for an hour. woke up at 12 to do patrol with emily's tent cos i couldn't sleep. my tent's was at 5 to 6 so when christine's alarm clock rang we were wondering why we were still so sleepy. when we asked the patrolling tent outside about the time it was only 4.15 am -_- found out that cindy was playing with christine's clock the night before. cindy!! haha. went back to sleep and then did patrol from 5 to 6. shun bian packed our tent so we were the first (for once!) to pack all our stuff. woke the rest up at 6 and all of us ate breakfast by the shore. got our stuff ready and set off back to camp2 at seven.


day four
the trip back to camp2 was faster cos we knew the way. chengho and raffles were 'fighting' whenever we rested cos raffles didn't rest as much as we did. but anyway. saw a REAL wild boar! it was kinda ramming itself at some tree. -_- scary. walked through this squishy mud path and my arms started to burn up cos of the insect spray (my boyfriend of the week. protected me throughout obs.) apparently i put too much or something and i was already sunburnt. so for about half an hour i had to ask suhong to carry my bottles for me. thanks ah. after putting a LOT of powder it was better la. stopped at this ah gong's house with loads of weird exotic animals but didn't go and look cos of my burning arms. reached camp2 really early, about lunchtime. we were like super duper happy when we finally saw a gate! and the belaying structures! and the toilets! and the multi purpose hall! and ya you know la. boon instructed us to keep our blue tarp and backpacks and everything else into our store before letting us bathe and have lunch. was really happy that the land expedition was over. haha. finally i APPRECIATE what a toilet is. went to BATHE :D first time in two days! and first time the toilet hut was CLEAN, NOT FLOODED and EMPTY! it was only my watch bathing and there were 4 toilets for us to use. so we could choose any toilet. haha. i went to use the open air one. which was cool la. the water never felt better. heh. then we went ate lunch and i washed my shoes (all 3 pairs). then we went for our height element! which was COOL (: its called the double-dangling-duo. cos two of us will climb up the ROUND SLIPPERY LOGS and once we reach the top we'll just dangle down. sounds easy. is not. the logs are dangled on metal wires. which means they'll just swing around when you step on them. then you have to get to the next log. which is like at your neck. your partner'll help you up by letting you step on their thigh and then you'll help your partner up to the same log by pulling them up by the arm. and there are 6 logs. which is REALLY HIGH. (raffles got 5 logs. but their distance between each log was more. so they couldn't make it further than the 2nd log.) nadrah and yakka did it really fast. joycelyn and hweelee also! they did it super fast cos joycelyn had SUPER LONG legs. haha. for me it was with christine. and we took about an hour! haha. cos we were performing arts people. hahaha. dance and band. diao. christine was scared of stepping on my leg. and my leg was always slipping off when i stretched my leg onto the higher log. like monkey. -_- then we just kept going. until the last stretch which was really high. my leg wasn't long enough to like, hook onto the log. and my SHOELACE CAME OUT. so i was like, boon can i tie shoelace. god that was so funny la. so my belayer yakka had to hold on tight cos i had to 'sit' on the air while tying my shoelace. haha. nadrah was like samho best man! can tie shoelace in midair! haha. and finally after eons i got my leg up and we touched to top! and when me and christine finally did it we were like crying for happiness. hahha. YAY. (: we did it! then when we finished we went to bathe again (: haha. this time i bathed in the dark cos it was still about 5 and the toilet lights weren't on yet. not that bad lah. then we cooked dinner! cooked all the stuff we had left cos ya. last night already! but i didn't really eat much la cos my watch forgot about me cos i went around to look for my classmates and besides i ate a lot of bread. -_- went to set up our tents and then this kim chuan guy took over boon for the night. YUCK. i hate him. he's so weird. scolded us for washing our pots and pans with soap and not at sea. whatever la. it was then i realised that boon was really a nice guy. as in, within these few days he was our mentor, our caretaker and stuff. and he was a great instructor though he was really crappy sometimes. i suddenly missed him and ya. realised the next day would be the last day i'd see him. sad. ): but anyway. kim chuan and serene took us with raffles for a challenge at night. which was something that i would never forget. but ya we aren't supposed to tell the next batch of sec3s so (: thanks to chengho and raffles for the times we had that night. FIREFLIES ARE COOL. but anyway. went back to our campsite (sunset valley. or something.) christine and yakka turned in first. cindy went to nadrah's tent for the night. i went to cheryl's watch (which was making a lot of noise. haha.) and talked for a while before feeling very sleepy. haha. you know cheryl was like, sam sleep here la don need to go back to your watch.. sleep here la ok i don't let you go back ah. and i was like no, noo.. later boon scold.. serene scold.. later here no space for everyone.. don't want la.. cannot.. and drifting to sleep while talking. heh. then i was like okok i better go back before i really fall asleep here argueing with you. and we went out of the tent and serene was there! tian. she was coming down to tell cheryl's watch off for making so much noise and just nice i was in front of her. was hoping that she wouldn't recognise me from chengho but anyway. cheryl went back into her tent and i hopped away from the scene. phew. had to jump over this trench and trudge in the wet and muddy grass -_- finally reached my tent and then slept like a baby. cos i was really tired and there was lots of space cos cindy wasn't around. yup. no offence intended cindy! but anyway samho sleeps the straightest among all of us so ya. no difference haha.


day five
woke up at around 5 and packed our tent. boon made us wash and keep our tents before eating breakfast or anything. and now we know why boon's record was so clean - he replaced all the items that we lost himself so we didn't need to pay. lost a few tentpegs i think. and something else but anyway. haha. kept whatever stuff that belonged to obs and packed our bags. ate lunch before going to the jetty at 11 i think. don't remember. boon brought us to the shore and we did the throwing away of your fears at the seaside. then we went to the tree stumps nearby and boon distributed the photos and our wallets and phones and some evaluation form. then we talked for a while. and ya. we took a group photo at the kayaks and went back to the jetty area. bought loads of stuff from the obs souvenir store. including peiting's stuff la. haha. got 3 posters -_- then the course director came to give some briefing before we were dismissed from pulau ubin. we gave boon cgs socks to remember us by and a camera full of our pictures for him to develop hahha. and also deodorant. HAHA. oh well. i miss him. a lot. he was like a father to us.. but ya. CRAZY one. maybe one day they'll organise a meeting la. when he's free. haha. I MISS BOON. don't you too cindy! haha.


anyway. total mosquito/sandfly bites count: 162. next batch of sec3s, pls be prepared. (:


went back to singapore by the big slow boat and the big bus. when we finally reached punggol then it was like the first time we saw CIVILISATION. o_o haha. oh well. i miss pulau ubin. and boon of course. i'll never forget the times we had together chengho. (: maybe its just me, but i think sec3 is a time when you'll get many experiences which will enrich your life. and i can guarantee that obs is one experience you'll never forget.

i'm too lazy to retype everything.

SiA @ haising enjia and i sneaked off from olevel music lesson that wednesday haha. mr and mrs chua was alr in the band rm. went to look for manning and mdm zaibon. set up the stuff behind the band rm and waited for their break. one of the teachers came along and talked to us.. -_- anyway. the sales were quite good (: and the haising ppl were pretty friendly. thank you hscb (: waited for band prac to end so manning vicky razanah and i could go to the acjc concert. shimin and abigail are -_- people. they saw ben's number in my phone and got all high and frenzied. crazy haha. (:

acjc concert almost late for the concert haha. first row seats weren't too bad lah. symphonic overture was really nice! i like october x) variations of a korean folksong was weird.. phantom of the opera was -_- something went wrong. acsi played really well (: i love seagate overture and vesuvius!! :D ahhem vicky. hwl fan. -_- forget acsb. they were calafare. anyway acjc band did a good job! i love you amah(ruth) agong(xiangning) grace qinyi jiayi! (:

wani's bday in school celebration was super funny. the big red bra. haha. from ivy, dot and me. gave wani her trumpet pin. hope you liked your presents wani (: she had a hard hard time trying to guess what we were all whispering about in chinese the whole week haha.

dot and i celebrated again for wani on saturday. had to lie to wani cos she wanted to come to school to study with me when i had to get her flowers and cake from tiong. haha. met her and dot at paragon. gave her the flowers and sang her a birthday song. don know how long they took to come.. the candle almost melt finish alr -_- went to swensens at crown prince hotel. wani ate the most expensive stuff.. fish and chips, earthquake.. of course right cos we're treating her -_- went walk walk then went for electone. happy birthday wani (:

midyrs was crap. i think this time round i screwed up my midyrs. cos of syf, wani's bday (ahhem wani. i expect something for my bday ah. hahaha.), tests, revision, homework, not enough sleep, etc. english was crap. wrote about syf for paper 1 (: wasted 15 mins sleeping for paper 2 :\ chinese was okay. hopefully i can pass. forget ss. confirm f9. chem also. physics still okay. bio so-so. lit unexpectedly okay (: emaths okay. history die. die die die. didn't study for topics tested for seq. die die die. amaths confirm f9. midyrs sucked. to those who were concerned for me on monday, thanks a lot. (:

partayye! damn the midyears its partayye time! :D went town almost everyday after midyrs. bought obs stuff. bought a new wallet! :D its black and purple and i love it (: cut my hair! stupid janice keep saying i look bung. whateverr -_- haha. bought new manga! yay. i need to destress. town will be my second home from now on. hahaha. :D
