a semester has passed.
and i haven't really updated.
shows how busy a typical sec three is.

i shall take that back.
sec three is over!
i'm sure there's more to come next year.
busy, busy me.

i shall just jot down a few notes that i wish to remember and hold on in my heart.

term three was a really busy term.
studying wasn't exactly a top priority for me, considering all those activities and functions.
the band performed for some events, as usual.
common test flew by.
results weren't that bad, but not good enough.
20 aug was a pretty fine day to remember (:
thanks to all who contributed to the outdoor concert @ sentosa.
helping the percussion was not a first for me, but it was still an experience. ;)
playing the japanese graffiti solo was definitely my very first time going solo in front of an audience, and i guess i did it well enough.
i really wanna thank all those who helped me with this (considerably difficult) solo.
mr and mrs chua for all the musical guidance;
my understanding SLs for letting me run off to practice now and then (hee);
my section for their unwavering support;
the band for their unwavering support;
my partner (then) nurul for all her quacking and nagging aka support (heh!);
wani and liyana for all the times we had practicing our solos. (:
of course, my parents who didn't really bother whether i sounded sharp or flat but were just happy that i got the solo. (:
i was trembling, or rather shaking when i began on the F#.
my fingers nearly slipped at times but in the end it was okay.
the only thing i've really worried about was the high G going flat.
and it didn't. (:
so the solo was okay. (:
liyana, wani, you guys did great.
we did it together (:
that sums up term three.
before i finish, i want to say i'm sorry.
to the vainpot and the sotong.
(you know who you are.)
sorry.
i'm just glad now that its all over (:

term four was fast.
fast and furious.
the time flew by really fast.
the studying became furious.
i was surprised at my own commitment.
i never really studied this hard before.
this is indeed the hardest that i've ever studied.
but i know i did not complete studying everything.
i missed out a chunk on ss, a bit of bio and some scraps of other subjects.
so the finals came and went.
it was pretty fast.
i failed some subjects.
but for the combined overall i passed all.
which is really a very close call.
i regret.
i really really regret not taking my studies seriously.
i've been playing all this while.
band just drains my time.
but i make band a top priority.
band is the commitment i make.
i want to go for band practices.
its just that i don't have the discipline to make myself commit to my studies.
i really regret it.
thats why i'm going to study real hard.
although i know there's a rough path in front of me,
and O levels are just blurred by the mist of time,
i'm going to study.
i have no more time to waste.
immediately after the exams i joined mus'art.
you may think that i'm joining just because i think i'm professional and i think i can play really well.
or that i'm joining just because of some other horrid reasons you can think of.
no.
the only reason i'm in mus'art now is because mr chua initially asked me on our first band prac after the exams to go.
they're shorthanded on clarinet players, that's all.
i don't think i'm professional.
i don't even think i'm up to it.
i'm just going cause i want to.
being in mus'art is my dream.
being invited to be in mus'art is a dream come true.
so why not?
dare to dream. (:
but now that i'm in mus'art i've got lesser time.
i've dropped my (very important according to my mother) chinese tuition just to go for the practices,
and i'm spending more and more time on band.
considering that the holidays are here, i'll be even more busy with lessons, homework, tuitions, band and mus'art.
how to study?
i've asked myself the same old question upteen times.
i'm not sure how, but i will.
i will definitely study this holidays.
and that is the promise i make to myself.
i don't want to rely on luck again.
my psle was all relied on luck.
that score of 251 was definitely not mine.
i didn't expect to get that much.
but who cares, its over.
this is the real thing now.
O levels.
and i'll be prepared. (:

oh well to hell with all that crap talk.
thats about all for this whole semester.
and i'm sure there'll be more to come for this holidays (:
john teo's wedding, the mus'art concert, section chalet...
meanwhile, i shall just stay happy (:

happy holidays (:
